Old Man Yu Gong Moves the Mountains is a traditional Chinese fable. It goes like this,
Yu Gong was a ninety-year-old man who lived at the north of two high mountains, Mount Taihang and Mount Wangwu.
The mountains were so high that Yu Gong and his family can’t le***e home easily.
One day Yu gong talked to his family together and said,"Let's try our best to move these twomountains. What about you?” Everyone agreed.
Zhi Sou lived by the side of the Yellow River. When he saw they moved the mountains busily, he said to Yu Gong " You are very old now. Even if you try your best to move the mountains, you won't remove a corner of the mountain."
Yu Gong said,"You can’t understand. If I die, there will be my sons, my grandsons my great-grandsons. They will try theit best to move the mountains. We shall move them one day!"
The story tells us that so long as one is determined and sticks to it long enough, anything can be achieved, no matter how difficult it is.
